Role of Neighbourhood Forums

The primary role of the Neighbourhood Forums is to seek to secure the effective management and development of their neighbourhoods, and of the whole of Ballymun, for and on behalf of Ballymun residents.

This is achieved by:

  1. Working in partnership with all key organisations which have an influence on the management and development of Ballymun;
  2. Informing the residents on issues effecting the general interest in the area;
  3. Encouraging the broadest representation of the area on the Neighbourhood Forum and;
  4. Assisting or seeking the support of individuals and organisations in achieving these objectives.

Membership Eligibility.

Membership of the Forum is open to all residents of the Forum area who are over 18 years of age , and who subscribe to the core objectives of the Ballymun Neighbourhood Council. Forum members must also be democratically and fairly elected through designated elections.

Forum Sub-committees and Decision-Making.

Forum decision-making is carried out through the following structures:

1. The Central Committee.
The Central Committee consists of the officers of the Forum e.g. the Chairperson, the Vice Chairperson and Treasurer.
