Ballymum, Ireland's First New Twenty First Century Town.
The new Ballymun town,
particularly the evolving Main Street
will be significantly enhanced economically,
socially by a number of ‘flagship’ projects,
some built, some in train, some in the
design stage and others yet to be encouraged.

- The Ballymun Masterplan: A Framework for Decision Making
Since the M50 motorway was built,
Ballymun has become a strategic
location for developers and the new
town will be a very desirable place
for people to live in and work.
It is beside the airport and the
important Dublin - Belfast economic corridor,
with direct access onto the M50 motorway.
Ballymun is just four and a half
miles from O'Connell Street and has
land zoned and serviced for development
as well as plenty of space for housing.
The land, which is owned by Dublin City Council
has been made available to the
Ballymun regeneration project,
in order to achieve the objectives
set out in the Ballymun Masterplan.
